July 2026 Newsletter

WELCOME FROM OUR CHAIRS

One of our highlights this month is the launch of our new members’ call-out, running from 1–31 July, which you can find on our CuratorSpace page. We’re looking for artists to broaden and enrich PRISM’s international community. If your practice explores textiles or is inspired by textile techniques, whether that’s weaving with wool, knitting with metal, stitch, mixed media, or innovative material-based approaches, we’d love to see your submission.

As a member-run organisation, PRISM is far more than an exhibiting group. Our members shape what we do, and we’re always delighted to welcome people who would like to get involved in helping us run, develop and sustain the organisation. Whether you have time to join a team, contribute to a project, or simply lend a hand from time to time, your involvement helps keep PRISM thriving.

Beyond exhibitions, our members stay connected through our WhatsApp group, regular Zoom socials, and meet-ups across the country. There are plenty of opportunities to exchange ideas, share experiences, build friendships, and take part in group activities throughout the year.

Exhibition-wise, we’re both looking ahead and reflecting on recent achievements. This month, we're selecting work for Out of the Box, our exhibition at the Knit + Stitch Shows in London and Harrogate this autumn. At the same time, we’re looking back at our Dictionary exhibition at the Art Pavilion, Mile End, with a wonderful new blog from our mentee, Meg, who shares the story behind the development of her exhibited work Megacordyceps.

We’re also excited to share that PRISM now has its own Vimeo channel. It’s the new home for the artist interviews and private view videos from our recent exhibitions, and it’s just the beginning. Over time, we’ll be adding more member interviews, studio visits, behind-the-scenes insights, and conversations about where our ideas come from, how our work evolves, and the people behind it. You’ll also find our new PRISM showreel there, celebrating the breadth and diversity of work across our membership.

We hope you enjoy exploring everything in this month’s newsletter, and we wish you a wonderful, creative summer.

With best wishes,

Wolfgang Woerner, Chair
Jane Riley, Vice Chair
