What’s On March 2026: Members’ News
Welcome to the March issue of Members’ News. Members are putting finishing touches to their pieces for the Prism exhibition at Mile End in April and creating small works and gifts for the shop but you can still find several people’s work on show across the country/world.
Exhibitions & Events:
Jane Riley is exhibiting in touring exhibition “Picking up the Thread: the Past Present and Future of Tapestry”; a celebration of Tapestry to mark the 20th year of the British Tapestry Group, featuring 69 artists from nine different countries. Currently in Dovecot Studios, until the 14th February 2026 followed by The Market Hall, Devonport 2nd - 18th March 2026 Morley Gallery, London 13th - 25th July 2026. Recent alumni Anita Bruce also features.
Ross Belton is currently showing his sculpture “INVASION” as part of Malton Sculpture Trail in Dalby Forest until 31st May 2026. The Dalby Forest Visitors Centre, Low Dalby, Thornton-Le-Dale, Pickering, YO18 7LT1. 1 is open 1 March - 31 October: 9:30am - 5pm and November - 28 February: 9am - 4pm. Nerissa Cargill Thompson is currently exhibiting in DNNW X MCDC at Manchester Craft & Design Centre, 17 Oak Street, Northern Quarter, Manchester, M4 5JD from 16th January to 21st March 2026. DNNW X MCDC is collaboration between Manchester Craft & Design Centre and Design-Nation, a National Network that has connected and championed UK Craft and Design since 1999, who will be showcasing a collection of their North West members at this important venue. This collaboration represents the importance of offering inclusive opportunities for contemporary design and craft throughout the sector. MCDC are honoured to display the work of these future thinkers and showcase a snapshot of innovation in the North West. Opening Hours: Monday – Saturday, 10am – 5.30pm, 2nd Sunday of the Month, 11am – 5pm. Free entrance.
Anne Amosford will be exhibiting in Camp: Flow State at Make Southwest, Bovey Tracey, Devon TQ13 9AF from 31st January 2026 - 21 March 2026. An exhibition by Contemporary Art membership Platform (CAMP). A collaborative project on the theme of Flow State: Immersion, Movement and the act of making.
Helen MacRitchie has 2 pieces in "Echoes &Silences" exhibition with Untethered Fibre Artists New England Regional Art Museum, 106 - 114 Kentucky Street, Armidale NSW 2350 Australia from 6 February- 22 March. “Echoes & Silences” brings together 20 artists from the Untethered Fibre Artists collective, a group formed over a decade ago to champion fibre as a vital contemporary art form. Known for their inventive, theme-driven exhibitions, the collective pushes the boundaries of fibre practice through diverse materials, techniques and conceptual approaches. The exhibition explores both the tangible and intangible — from landscape and oceans to memory, emotion and stillness. Across 38 meticulously crafted works, artists reflect on personal and collective experience, engaging with themes of family, grief, disability, womanhood and connection to the natural world. This exhibition will move on to Gallery Lane Cove, Sydney at the end of March. Helen will be out there for that opening.
Nerissa Cargill Thompson has had her sculpture “Mind The Gap” selected for the Bolton Open at Bolton Museum and Art Gallery, Le Mans Crescent, Bolton BL1 1SE from 14th February until 17th May, Monday-Saturday 9am - 5pm, Sunday 10:00am - 4:00pm. A showcase of artists who live, work, or study in Bolton. Artworks include painting, drawing, print, textiles, photography, sculpture, mixed media and digital. "Mind the Gap" was originally created for the Prism "Edgelands" exhibition.
Marian Jazmik has work featuring in “Pushing the Boundaries”, an exhibition of contemporary textile art exploring use of unconventional materials, at Art@One, The Lodge, Hemingford Grey house, Church Street, Hemingford Grey, PE28 9DF, 21st Feb-1st March 10am -4pm
Jo Coombes & Patti Taylor will be exhibiting as part of “Wild & Wilder” at Oxmarket Contemporary. St Andrew's Court, Chichester, West Sussex PO19 1YH from 3rd - 15th March 2026 Tuesday - Saturday 10am- 4.30 pm. Sunday 12 - 4.pm. Meet the Artists: Saturday 7th March 12 - 3pm. This is a continuation of Phoenix's colourful and exciting exhibition with new and additional work and also introducing our two new members. Free Admission.
Maria Walker has been selected for “The Weight of Waiting” at The House of Smalls, Henderson Row , Edinburgh EH3 5BB. An exhibition of women exploring the gender health gap runs from 7th March to 4th April, open Wed to Sat 11am to 6pm, Sun 12 to 5pm.
Nerissa Cargill Thompson has been commissioned to created new work as part of Immaterial Collective for Your Salford 100: Contemporary Narratives at Salford Museum & Art Gallery, Peel Park, The Crescent, M5 4WU. Saturday & Sunday: 11.30am – 4.00pm. Immaterial Collective were excited to be invited to explore the archives to inspire new textile artworks as part of the centenary celebrations of the City of Salford. We will showing these alongside the items that inspired them. A collection of print artists were invited to do the same. Together we make up the Contemporary Narratives exhibition.

The Interplay & Manipulation of Yarn & Structure Weave: Saturday 28th February & Sunday 1st March, 10am - 4pm. Tickets £250. Lunch and refreshments are provided and there is plenty of free on-site parking.
A two day workshop understanding yarn properties in weave structures. The combination of yarn and structure is an essential element of weave design, the scientific properties of one or more yarns in a design working with or against one another. These subtle interplays of ‘yarn personalities’, their reaction and interaction with one other, their behaviour combined with certain weave structures are the core elements of this weekend workshop.
