Yahvi Duggal
London, UK
Yahvi is an Indian textile artist and educator based in London and the founder of Peel Studio. Her practice brings together handweaving, natural dyeing and material experimentation, transforming kitchen waste such as banana peels, eggshells, coffee grounds and avocado pits into tactile biomaterials, pigments and textile forms.
Drawing from everyday practices of resourcefulness, making and repair that surrounded her growing up in India, Yahvi explores how overlooked materials can carry new value and meaning. Her work moves between traditional textile processes and experimental material research, often incorporating reclaimed yarns and natural fibres from the UK and India.
Alongside her studio practice, Yahvi facilitates workshops and collaborative projects, using textile making as a way to bring people together through material, memory and shared making.
