Sue Gascoyne
Colchester, UK
Sue is a UK-based environmentally engaged artist who loves using textiles, ceramics, waste and biomaterials to create interactive installations and sculptures. Sue’s sensory-rich art explores issues around equality, safety, identity and gender with a strong environmental ethic and care.
Investigations with materiality are central to her art, actively inviting alchemy and collaboration. Sue is fascinated by how people, movement, light and performing arts activate her art and excited to develop this.
Sue’s art has been exhibited in over 20 exhibitions in the UK. She was a finalist for VAO25, selected for a Firstsite Collectors' Group Bursary Award in 2025 and a graduate from The Other MA (TOMA). Sue has been longlisted for The Artist Prize 2026.
