Selma Malasi is a BA Fine Art student at Central Saint Martins in London, currently participating in the first year of the PRISM Student Mentoring Programme as part of her Diploma in Professional Studies year.
Her practice centres on figurative oil painting, exploring identity, adornment, family and cultural heritage. Drawing inspiration from her Norwegian and Sudanese-Malaysian background, she incorporates traditional textiles, patterns and decorative objects.
Through PRISM, she hopes to expand her practice by exploring new techniques and materials that bridge painting, craft and sustainable design.
