David Harris

St Leonards on Sea, UK

David is a former creative director who worked for a selection of known brands across the retail sector.

Originally from Liverpool, where he studied graphic design and visual arts, he now resides in East Sussex acting as a creative consultant.

His love of bold colour, graphic imagery and pre-loved textiles are fused together within his work, which often asks the audience questions.

Hovering between protest and polite, and with strong influences from Jamie Reid, Allen Jones, Roy Lichtenstein and the legendary stylist Judy Blame, the works are often large in scale and incorporate an assemblage of found and discarded materials, which are emblazoned with embroidered, hand-stitched, painted and embellished wording, replacing the past story of the original fabrics and placing them in the current.
